Up for sale is a fully repaired and restored Akai AP-206 turntable in excellent condirion. This turntable has been repaired and restored. It was fully dismantled, cleaned and lubricated, and then the entire mechanism was re-assembled, calibrated and checked for function.
The start/stop mechanism works and the auto-return feature is intact and precise. Speed controls are fully functional and the strobe light works as it should. The cue mechanism raises and lowers the tone arm.
The counterweight is the original one and the tone arm carries a headshell to which is mounted a Ortofon TM 7cartridge. This cartridge was just purchased with less than 10 hours playtime.
The stylus (Ortofon stylus 7) was purchased brand new and has approximately 90 minutes (or less) playtime on it. The stylus will be packaged in the original packaging for shipping. If picking up locally, the stylus will stay mounted on the headshell.
While disassembled, the plinth was re-veneered using Mappa Burl veneer which was lightly stained with a pecan stain. The final product was sealed with several layers of lacquer and finished with a combination of gloss polyurethane and spar urethane.
The dust cover has age marks on it but it is not cracked or broken. The hinges are fully functional and are not damaged
