This AMC 401 crate engine built, would be EXCELLENT for a AMX, Javelin, Rebel, Scrambler, CJ-5 or CJ-7 and etc with its estimated 400HP. It will set you back in the seat and still has good all around power. In most cases by replacing the flexplate/flywheel this AMC 401 will replace that tired AMC 304 or AMC 360. This engine comes equipped with a Edelbrock Dual Plane Air Gap square bore flange intake and will run on leaded or unleaded Premium pump fuel. Also, if wanted a blowproof Bellhouseing for a manual trans can be included.

Our high dwell Dyna-Module, located inside the distributor, increases spark duration for improvements in throttle response and low end power. The DUI centrifugal advance system is a true Performance Distributors specialty. We use a high performance weight and spring assembly engineered for super smooth operation.
