American \"S\" Quarter Sawn Oak Desk19th century (1890\'s???)
60\" long x 49\" tall x 33.5\" wide
NOTE: Tambour roll top: Canvas on roll top needs work....a manageable and easy repair....still functions.NOTE: Top of desk has a coat of poly over the veneer. Think (not sure) that the top veneer MIGHT be birch rather than oak??? Not sure tho. It is the only part of the entire desk that was redone.NOTE: Center drawer may not be original. SEE PHOTOS.
Raised panel sides
Spectacular pigeon hole middle
Standard Yale lockMail slot on each side
The 2 writing pull out surfaces/\"tablets\" that pull out...these were most likely not the originals.
Breaks down into 7 (?) manageable pieces
PLEASE NOTE: I have described this desk to the best of my ability, after having had it looked at by 3 dealers. I did not have it appraised, just looked at by dealers.
IF ANY DEALER/BUYER has any corrections to this ad, I would GREATLY APPRECIATE your input!!!!!!
I have set a price \"based on\" an exact one sold a while back, which was totally refinished....so, that was taken into account when pricing this one. And, I have taken the advise of the 3 dealers when setting this price.
Again, I would LOVE TO GET ANY response -- FROM THOSE IN THE ANTIQUE FIELD -- THAT CAN ADD ANYTHING CONSTRUCTIVE!!!!
