All my work is constructed following prehistoric practices, no modern tools are used. I use local clays, minerals, plants and homemade tools. Tools such as gourd scrapers, polishing stones and homemade yucca brushes are used to create a product that resembles prehistoric pottery as close as possible. Firing is done in an open trench kiln using local juniper wood which not only is archeologically correct, produces an authentic looking product, complete with the occasional fire clouds.I will not tell you that my work could fool an astute archeologist or avid collector. That is not only insulting but is not my wish to do so. I simply try my best at recreating what I feel is beautiful art and enjoy doing so.
