CIRCA 1880\'s GAS WALL FIXTURE WITH DEEP ETCHED FLORAL SHADE - CONVERTED
This is a high end example of Victorian gas lighting. It has heavy brass filigree, ornate brass key and a very long, dramatic curve. The back plate and fitter are both original to the fixture. The fitter is sound and solid which is rare for original gas fitters. The back plate is about 4 1/2 inches in diameter witch will cover your electrical box opening. This gas lighthas beenwired with a porcelain candelabra-base socket that has a bronze shell that blends right in with the fixture. The socket can take up toa 60 watt bulb and looks great when on a dimmer. They now make Edison Bulbs in candelabra base, which look fantastic on these fixtures. I am including a 25 watt Edison bulbfor no extra charge.
I am also including astandard mounting bracket that will fit any modern electrical box.
The antique shadeis the standard 4 inch gas fitter andin perfect condition (no chips, flakes, cracks or any damage). The shade hasa deep etched, intricate floral design with a hand formed scalloped (from mounting bracket to outside of shade):17 inches
