At sale is featured a fantastic Estate Sale purchase from the Willamette Valley in Oregon. Listed is this lovely highly collectible Antique All Metal Doll made by Vincent Lake (yes, the typewriter inventor) of the Metal Doll Company of Pleasantville, New Jersey. This is an extremely scarce doll which makes the fact that she\'s missing an arm and has rub damage to her paint a nominal issue... Vincent Lake made these dolls starting in 1903 and ceased in 1904. Newspaper articles of the time document the very short period in which the Pleasantville factory was operating, and noted he began doll production after the failure of his type printer to make it into production. Very few of these steel body dolls remain in existence today, and this is one of those nice rare collectibles where it is entirely appropriate to have a doll hospital restore the damaged paint and manufacture a new arm without affecting the value.

Doll measures 17\" long, has jointed arms and legs, and also sleeping glass eyes in a lovely shade of brown. Her hair is original blonde mohair which has faded but is intact. (It is unknown where the scorching to the paint occurred but the eyes work just fine!This will be a phenomenal addition to any collection!I have several more dolls available from this same estate.
