Here we have anAntiqueAmerican Small \"Broad Axe Style\" Hatchet, 2-5/8\" edge. This small hatchet, with a head shape similar to lager broad axes, was stamped with a makers name but most of it has worn away and is unreadable (see pic 4).

This hatchet (small axe) has a \"Baltimore-Kentucky\" style head which is designed with lower pointed cheeks to reinforce the area where it meets the handle toprevent breaks. No issues with the head or eye, just thenormal scratches, grooves, nicks and dings, you see on every old axe/hatchet. The Oak/Hickory handle looks original and is in good condition with no cracks. There are the typical nicks and slivers of missing wood (see pics) I see no cracks, breaks or welds in the axe head. Head is 4-1/2\" wide from the back of the pole to the edge. Handle is 8\"L below the eye. Good sharp edge. This would be a great piece to add to your collection or put it to use!
