Ship Captain\'s Locking Mechanism Interior has various pigeon holes and drawers and has a working lock and key securing all drawers when top closed. 7 graduating drawers all with oak handles plus middle drawer. Width 48\" Depth 26\" Height 44\" We purchased it about 10 years ago. Someone had refinished but kept the integrity as you can see from slight scratches. They told us it was a ship captains desk as the drawers lock in place to keep papers from flying all over and drawers from flying open when there are rough waters.
