up for consideration is a Belle Epoque Louis XV Fauteuil with original Aubusson fabric. The piece is heavily carved to perfection...It measures approximately 30.5 inches wide by 27 inches deep with a seat height of 15 to 16 inches with the pillow stuffed full..please note the down filled period cushion is empty. The chair has generous proportions and is extremely well built. Looks to be made of walnut then painted a reddish primer with the remnants of gilt work worn away. Dates from the third quarter of the 19th century or earlier. The cushion has only the remnants of down filling. Some imperfections to the Aubusson work. Piece is hand stitched.
