Description

This is an early soda fountain electric mixer that has an ID tag on the front that reads: Hamilton Beach Mfg. Co. and the blue inscribedporcelain base letters that read\'BORDEN\'S MALTED MILK\' on all four sides.It has 3 round rubber type damper, as shown, underneath.The mixer cup is heavy metal and has an embossed nickel plated brass oval slug plate label on the front. It reads: BORDEN\'S MALTED MILK HAS NO EQUAL.

On the cup bottom is inscribed around the edge and reads: THE PROPERTY OF BORDEN\'S CONDENSED MILK CO. NEW YORK.

That would date the cup between 1899 and 1919. This has a wonderful patina!The mixer is attached to the base with a single heavy machine screw and washer. The top half of the square shaft is spring loaded and moves up and down freely using the handle at the top. The bottom of the square shaft has a movable and adjustable collar which holds the mixer cup. The cord has a fabric covered material and in VG condition. The mixer works when it is plugged in - there is no on/off switch.Dimensions:
Base is 10-3/4\" x 8\" x 1-1/2\" (+ add 1/2\" for rubber feet/dampers).Cup is 5-1/2\" tall. Top diameter 3-3/4\". Bottom 2-1/4\".Mixer Max height 16-3/4\". Lowered height 12-1/4\".Motor case size is about 3-1/2\" diameter.Cord length 4-1/2 feet.Condition:
Base has no chips, cracks, or repairs. Mixer is in very good condition and is in working order. Note that in some of the outdoor pictures, the mixer is reflecting the sun and is not shiny brass.The mixer cup has lost most of it\'s nickel plating as shown.Mixer will be detached from the base for shipping. Shipping will include insurance.NOTE: I purchased the assembly at an sale about 35 yrs. ago and have wondered if the mixer was correct for the Borden base. It seems correct but have no way to know for sure. I have never seen another Borden\'s Malted Milk Mixer. (Hamilton Beach was established in 1910.
