Unique antique metal head 16\" baby dollcalled Bonnet Babyfrom probably the early 1900\'s and made in Germany. She has a cloth body with non working cryer and composition half arms and legs. I find no markings but could be faint letters on lower back of neck. Please check the pictures carefully as they are important part of the description.
Dressed in old antique baby gown that is rather plain other than the lace at the wrist and around the neck and fastened at rear of neck with an old button. The sleeves are long for her and I have pinned them at wrist so her wee hands will show. There are various light stains on dress here and there and I have not tried to clean it. She has on antique bloomer with eyelet lace around legs and side buttons at waist. No damage or tears to the clothing other than the stains on dress.
Face and Hair: There is paint loss on face and some on back of painted molded hair. Nose and upper lip paint loss as well. Nice working tin sleep eyes. The hair has a molded center part and is a reddish blonde. The metal headed dolls had a seam all the way around the head and that part has some paint loss but head is very much intact. A sweet bonnet would cover this.
Body. Has age soil and non working cryer but no apparent damage to cloth. The compo limbs are in fairly good condition with paint loss at fingers and feet. There is a very small chip on left thumb. Legs are in fairly good shape as her knees are even a bit rosy.
Questions are welcome and please check out my other items for more dolls and doll things including a tiny antique doll head. Thanks for stopping by.
