Description of item for sale:

This Louis XV Vernis Martin secretary/lingerie chest is from France and it dates to the early 1900\'s.  The bombe shape, beautiful inlays, bronze ormolu, and signed original oil painting make this piece a standout. This is a genuine old one and not one of the many recent reproductions you may find.  The painting folds down to reveal a secretary with writing surface and hidden drawers.  This is a very well made piece with a thick, strong frame and superior craftsmanship.  The entire piece is in very good antique condition with only slight imperfections such as the occasional chip, some light varnish discoloring and some old, inactive woodworm holes (see photos).  Dimensions: 54\" high, 28\" wide and 15\" deep.
