This beautifully restored petite desk is from France and it dates to the Napoleon III/Second Empire period of 1852-1870.  It is made from solid and veneered mahogany finished to a warm reddish color.  There are bronze inserts in flutes of the legs and in the top ornamentation.  The writing surface is leather and there is a crack in the leather (see photos).  This is a very high quality piece with excellent fit and finish.  The drawers open and close smoothly and the main drawer locks and there is a key.  Overall this desk is in very good antique condition with no damage of any significance.  There are of course minor nicks and scratches from its many years of use.  Dimensions:  38\" tall, 31.5\" wide and 20\" deep.  The writing surface is 30\" tall.  648

Zone 2: $150 (Washington, Oregon and California)
Zone 3: $250 (Continental USA, all states except Zones 1, 2 and 4)
