ABOUT OUR ITEM:
This desk is so UNIQUE, hard to know where to begin! The surface is inlay carved of birds, butterflies and flora; the face of the legs, the top of the writing desk the wings on the top and all openings display an ornate design of birds butterflies and flora. Two small drawers flank the top portion of the two piece desk along with a small cupboard. The base of the writing desk features a full drawer. You will notice the upturned and downturned edge of the sides, each one alternating to the other. Believed to be late 19th Century to early 20th Century, rosewood (?). In excellent condition, consistent with age it is well patinated. One small skeleton key for locking the small cupboard door on the top. The desk also has a letter holder with a small crystal ink well in the center. The ink wells stopper is broken but intact. The desk will ship in two boxes as it is two pieces.
