This is one of the earlier tone chamber models made, Ibelieve it to be a 1939 model.
It has great bellows, keyboard, bass buttons, and reeds.This accordion plays loud and strong and has been very well cared for.
Theprevious owner included a 1999 service record for a repaired bellow, cracked corners on the bellow frame, replacing stripped screws and a mike. There is a sales record from Italo-American Accordion Mfg. Co. of Oak Lawn, IL. in 1996 for $900. paid in cash. There are also a few very interesting newspaper articles that will be included in this sale. One of the articles dating 1996 states that a brother of Demo Piatanesi (founding member of Italo-American Accordion Co.) used to play the accordion for Al Capone while he was in bed with two or three women!

In the early 1900\'s, the first phase of what would become the oldest accordion company in the United States opened for business on Taylor Street in Chicago, Illinois. After a few years, Demo Piatanesi and his two brothers, Finau and Bramante joined Luigi Giuletti and others to relocate the newly namedITALO-AMERICAN ACCORDION COMPANYto 51st and Kedzie, on the southwest side of Chicago. In it\'s prime, the accordion company manufactured over 25 accordions a week, and quickly gained a reputation all over the Midwest for it\'s top quality accordions and fine craftsmanship. Originators of the POLYTONE, POLYTONEL, ITALO-TONE, POLKAMASTER, POLKA-TONE, POLKA-KING, CONCERTMASTER, GLORIA, and NEW AGE models, the ITALO-AMERICAN ACCORDION COMPANY provided accordions for professionals and students, alike. Famous accordionists through the times have played Italo-American models such as: Pietro and Guido Diero, Andy Rizzo, Frank Salerno, Sam Porfirio, Johnny Vadnal, and Reno Tondelli, just to name a few.
