This is an amazing early hard leather suitcase. Stamped on the bottom is \" GUARANTEED GENUINE COW HIDE 9015 \" . It measures 26\" x 14\" x 9\" The leather straps encase the entire case and are in good condition for their age - see pictures ! Both buckles and latches work properly- sorry there is no key for the lock but it does open and close as it should.The inside is even more amazing... clean and NO musty odors.. leather straps are all in very good condition with top and side snap pockets.The inside latch is marked \" AUSTRU\" and the case is initialed \" JLC \" for James L Clarke. There are 2 old stickers that identify it as being on a steamer / ship - Furness Red Cross Lines Sailing to St. Johns.
These are hard to find in this condition. The straps are worn and need a little TLC in some areas.The handle has an area where the leather needs gluing/repair.
Overall good solid condition - minor scuffs and age related wear.
