This is a Havasupai Indian Work Basket, made around 1920\'s or 1930\'s. It is large, about 29 inches if you measure all the way around it at its widest point. It has great designs on it. I looked for a long time before I found this one, and it was worth waiting for! The Havasupai used two different ways of making baskets, twining and coiling. This is a twined basket and it is said that these baskets were usually made of Acacia trees or shrubs. It is a very Nice Early Havasupai Indian basket. singe rod foundation with a twined weave. It.measures approx. 8 1/2\" tall by 9 1/2\" across. very good condition with only a few missing stitches around the edge that I have show in pitchers.
