Another Rare Find...A World Class Antique
Circa 1850-1895
Charming Folk Art Hand Carved Wooden Horse
Great addition to any collection, beautiful to display....perfect on a fireplace mantle, desk or bookcase
No doubt this pony was entirely hand made
Made from pine wood
All four legs are original and were joined to the main body when it was carved so there is a joint where each leg meets the body
I found this treasure at an Estate sale
I love the hand painted eyes & the tail is superb
Of course there is lots of character including missing paint and a slight twist of the base, the horse is stable on the base even though the base does not lay flat against the table
No doubt this is a one of a kind piece of American Folk Art
