Absolutely gorgeous, late 19th Century quarter sawn oak rocking chair, arts & crafts mission style. All original apart from new fabric on spring cushion. Tiger oak is in excellent condition and solid. Measures approx. 26\" wide from outside armrests, 29\" total depth by 37\" tall. A beautiful piece and in need of a good home!

When we found this rocker it was in very poor condition. The seat had been torn apart, the wood was rough and the chair slats etc were separating from the frame of the chair. But we did not have to replace any wooden components, the chair was cleaned and tightened with the top two slats having to be re-glued into their slots. The seat was recovered. The wood being in very poor condition was cleaned and sealed to protect it.All this was done in April 2013. Given the age and condition of the piece when we received it, to get it back into a useable condition was priority. As for markings, the numbers 9598 appear on the underside of the rocker but there are no other labels or markings.
