Antique Stoneware Lee & Green Ginger Beer Bottle. GREAT CONDITION!! NO CHIPS OR CRACKS! Cork is intact and not dry or brittle. Measures 7" tall, 8" with cork, by approx. 2 3/4" wide. The label appears to be faded or 'rubbed off' on the left side, but the bottle is glazed and this was done during production.
My research tells me that the bottle dates between 1891 and 1899 when Lee & Green added the cities of Bourne and Skegness, respectively, to their Lincolnshire, England factories. (Note the presence of Bourne on the label and the absence of Skegness.) Lee & Green expanded to the US in 1904.
