Antique STROMBERG KR No. 2 Bronze Updraft Carburetor From 1915 Jeffery Truck:
$129.99

Very rare large original Stromberg model KR No. 2 bronze updraft carburetor. Made by the Stromberg Motor Devices Company in Chicago, IL. Online research indicates this type of carburetor was designed for and only used on one original equipment application, the 1915 Jeffery 2 ton truck. This was probably the \"Quad\" 4-wheel drive truck using a Buda engine which Jeffery had developed in 1913 and was used extensively inWorld War 1. It may also have been used on stationary enginesfor agricultural and industrial applications. 8 3/4\" long,4 1/4\" wide, 7\" high, made of heavy cast bronze with brass fittings and steel screws. The mounting flange has a 1 7/16\" throttle bore and mounting holes with 2 3/4\" centers. The levers and plates for throttle and choke move freely along with the rotating collar at the air intake. A pad onone sideshows theKR No. 2model name with number318947 stamped adjacent. The float chamber cover is marked \"STROMBERG MOTOR DEVICES CO. CHICAGO PATENTS PENDING.\" This carburetor is in as found condition with only a light cleanup. It appears to be complete including the manifold mounting screws. It hassome nicks and scratches but no dentsor cracks, and does not show signs of corrosion. We have not disassembled it and we have no idea of its operating condition. This was a transitional model and very few were built in 1915, itwould be a great core for restoration or parts, also a great collectable piece for lovers of Automobilia or Petroliana.
