I bought this tractor strictly for resale. It is a great antique unit, but I have 3 restorations going now. The previous owner bought it 3 years ago with the motor stuck. He took the head off and got the motor loose. She will spin over with a battery, it was just a moisture issue. The head is still off (covered up in the garage) because he wanted to replace the sleeves while he was at it. It is equipped with a Caterpillar 4 cylinder. I have the serial number it is 337297-SP off the engine. It is a Cat D2-3J. It is a 3300 series engine, 4 cylinder diesel. The crawler is complete with all the radiator and supports, grille, hood, etc. The under carriage is in not so good shape. The bushings are worn straight down to the pins. The chain is fair. The sprockets are about 20-30%. The pads are maybe 40%. I am certain she will need some under carriage work. The machine does come with the heavy duty yoke that attaches to the lift cylinders and it also has a blade. This is not a crawler loader type unit, but a blade dozer type. The engine was always covered up with a rubber tarp. The machine has a draw bar in the rear. I was told that this machine was built in 1945. We do have a large loader that can lift this unit onto your trailer or even push it on. The other pieces are off for easy transport. This is not a piece a junk, but it is an excellent restoration project. Previous previous owner advised that the steering clutches were good. It is equipped with a Caterpillar gas powered Pony starting motor that is complete and spins freely. I do have some parts in my inventory for undercarriage restoration that I would be willing to sell. I do have complete tracks from another machine, I think a 933 that may fit this unit with some modification. This machine currently sits on a farm in Lower Northumberland County. Near the intersections of Route 25 and 225. Near the town of Herndon. I believe a 2 axle car trailer at 6-7,000 lbs. would haul this machine. Again the machine as far as we know is 99% complete, but is being sold as-is, where is, no warranties implied. Must be paid for within 5 business days of end of sale.
