Outstanding antique highly carved Victorian French six legged writing desk with a ornate cane back and made from solid cherry wood. Dates from the late 1800s and in great condition as pictures will show and has the original key for the lock. Outstanding carved detail on the legs, front, sides and cane back. Has two glove boxes on top with two small drawers in each one and five drawers at the bottom, 9 drawers total. Solid and strong and can be used daily. Measures 43\" at the tallest point, 48 1/2\" wide, 22 3/4\" deep and 29 1/2\" from the floor to the desk top. Marked on the back 216. Please look at all pictures to see the outstanding carved detail on this desk. You would have to look long and hard to find another one. As with all antique and used furniture expect to find some light scratches, rubs or repairs due to age and use. This desk is a true survivor and clearly shows it was well made and made with pride and craftsmanship.
