Here is a great antique Waltham Banjo Presentation Clock for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at an sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself!

Some information about the clock;

Waltham Clock Co., Waltham, Mass., \"Presentation Banjo\" wall clock, 8 day, time only, weight driven movement in rope banded mahogany case with painted metal dial and reverse painted tablets, circa 1910 the case appears to retain its\' original exterior finish. The tablets are in good condition, some flaking, see the pictures. The pendulum tie down band is there, but the tab is missing.

Great old Waltham Banjo Clock in unrestored condition for your here folks. The clock has George Washington and Mt. Vernon glass tablets on it. This clock was made probably in the early 1910\'s time frame.

Beautiful mahogany case and the pieces seem to all be there. Great rope banded beading around the clock case front. I see no cracks, splits, or repairs to the wood case. Only exception is the bottom trim piece on the case. Looks like split off at some point and reglued. The repair was done well. Certainly some finish loss to the case, but still looks good for its\' age. The snap close latch for the bottom pendulum door are in place. The side rails to the clock are in place and still securely attached to the case.

The top metal eagle finial is in place and looks appropriate to the clock. Leaving this way will allow safer shipment to you and then you can do the gluing and touch up with a furniture marker at the break.

The hinges on the lower door works well and the center piece is securely in place. Both the glass over the clock face and the center piece are intact. The pendulum and center piece glass pieces are intact, no cracking or blistering. Some of the screws that hold the face and center piece of the clock face on look newer, not appropriate to the clock.

There is a good looking brass bezel over the clock face. The bezel is a little loose at the hinge just due to the weight of the bezel. The concave glass is intact, no cracking or blistering. The latch on the bezel is in working condition. The clock has a nice looking tan colored tin face with numbers on it. The \"Waltham\" name is in cursive in the middle of the face. The face is 7.25\" across. Face looks clean, I see no flaking going on. We have not attempted to deep clean the face or the case, we just wipe down our pieces. The clock has matching hands that look appropriate to the clock. There was most likely a metal baffle inside the base of the clock that separated the weight from the pendulum which is not there now. Can see holes where it was probably tacked in at one time.

A good picture of the movement is provided in the pics. Says Waltham Watch Co. and then USA in the middle of the logo on the movement. The movement has the number \"9278\" on the left upper side of the front of the movement.

Great brass pendulum bob that looks appropriate to this clock as well. The clock was just recently serviced by Clock Doc and is in running condition again. Crutch was a little bent and some teeth needed adjustment. So, the clock is being sold in running condition.

The clock stands 40.5\" tall (with the finial in place), by 10.5\" across, by 4\" wide. This antique banjo clock looks nice as is, or is ready for your able hands to restore it to its\' original condition. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.

As can be expectedwhen dealing with an antique clock, some adjustments may be needed aftershipping to get the clock re-running correctly again as they can be verydelicate. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocksbefore, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have thepatience, and skill to work with these great works of art. They are notour modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks. Please ask anyquestions relating to this matter, before you decide to purchase it.

Returns Policy

• Returns are accepted by seller within 14 days of receipt of item by buyer. The Buyer will be assessed a $150 restocking fee should they decide to return this item for whatever the reason..
• Please note that a restocking fee is charged toto cover costs related to the loss of listing time and other potential sales, plus the amount of care and time that goes into preparing our unique and fragile items for shipping.
