Here is a very cool old glass jar. It is an early battery for a Western Electric telephone. It has the aqua colored glass jar with Western Electric New York embossed in the glass. It has a large insert/lid with an electrode, and a center rod with porcelain plug and electrode. The center rod has some damage from corrosion and a small chunk missing from the porcelain. The larger insert is excellent with no damage. The glass jar is excellent, with a few bubbles in the glass and light chips on the rough edge opening.
