True Vintage Bed Quilt Bedspread.

Here we have an absolutely beautiful aged quilt, bedspread. Feels to be either Cotton or a Fine Cotton Linen union.
Very lightweight batting inbetween.
Deliciously light at 2.4kg.
Dimensions approx 245cm in length, 229cm in width, so around 96\" x 90\", photographed on a standard double Sized Bed but could also suit a King sized dependant on your overhang preference.
The previous owners of this quilt couldn`t really supply many details other than it is very old, maybe even Edwardian.
It certainly has that sublime old fashioned look and appeal....
The upper has vertical bands in elegant, wonderfully vintage colours, the nearest match to the cream on Farrow & Balls Colour Chart is `Dimity`, the soft duck egg greens best match on F&Bs chart, `Teresa`s Green`.

Exquisite golden coloured embroided leaves border the stripes, machine stitched, not hand.
Dainty, feminine pink roses feature within the columns.
Other than the top pillow end all other sides are lightly scalloped, although the way it displays this isn`t overly obvious. The border has an almost fine hessian finish.
The reverse is a pale biscuit coloured cotton.

This delightful find was in need of a thorough clean when I acquired it, so it has been through two washes in a large 40Ib american supersized commercial washing machine
( whilst I held my breath!, happily it survived well!)
The quilt was line dried in the New Forest Sunshine and aired in the old old fashioned way over a maiden + belling heater.
I had pretreated the marks with specialist detergents and most have either vanished altogether or remain very feintly. The most obvious marks are to the reverse plain side, obviously not visible whilst in use, please see photos.
Also at some stage near to the corner base left handside the material must of caught on something and torn, as there is evidence of a historical repair. Again please refer to photos. This unfortunately does leave a slightly puckered effect to a small portion of the quilt but due to its impressive size and buzziness of pattern is not immediately obvious. However please bear this is mind if considering purchasing, as with all True Vintage and Antique textiles it is not unusual to find little flaws and imperfections, this is what adds to thier authentic charm and shabby chic appeal!
If however you require `as new` my bygone treasures may not be to your taste, I only deal in True Vintage, Antique textiles NOT reproduction, so please only offer if happy with this.
I have never come across another spread similiar to this, It really is beautifully unique and would be sure to lend a gorgeous, subtle, Vintage grandeur to your room...
