The Anan-100D represents the very latest in 4th generation SDR technology for ham radioThe ANAN-100D is a100WHF & 6m all mode SDR transceiver with two physical receiversand lets you openup to 14 receivers within the software.

The ANAN-100D employs a state-of-the-art4th generation DDC/DUC (Digital Down Converter/Digital Up Converter) core which incorporates an Altera Cyclone IV FPGA *Field-Programmeable Gate Array) processor and dual LTC2208 ADC\'s (Analog to Digital Converter). In order to enhance the performance of the core radio to absolute limits, Apache Labs took a strategic decision to keep all CPU heavy-lifting OUTSIDE of the radio itself and allow the user’s PC to handle this side of the processing. There are many reasons for keeping the processing outside of the radio itself the main of which we will address below:

PC-based CPU processing

What was the processing power of your cell phone 1 year ago? How many cores did its CPU have and how complex where the features and capabilities just 12 months ago compared with now? Computer processing and capabilities are as far away from flat-lining as ever with more and more power becoming available almost daily in addition to the price per cycle or Megabyte of ram dropping by almost the same rate.

The FPGA\'s and DDC/DUC\'s of the ANAN product suite have much bandwidth in reserve to future developments and capabilities and by keeping hard-core processing out of the transceiver itself, the ANAN product suite is not out of date as soon as it hits your shack desk. For example, most SDR receivers/transceivers have a receive bandwidth of 192Khz. The ANAN-100D can provide 1536Khz when using the standard PowerSDR software. However, utilise the cuSDR* software front-end and you can now view in one window a screen showing 10Khz to 63Mhz. At the same time, slice receivers can provide up to 7 additional individual band receivers with either 192Mhz or 384Mhz bandwidths. Imagine what the capabilities of SDR will be in 18 months’ time from now. What would you prefer to change, your £3000.00 transceiver or would you prefer to upgrade your £300.00 PC?

Full LF, MF,HFand 6mcoverage with exceptional receiver performance throughout

The design and optimisation of the Anan receiver has gone far beyondthe borders of the Amateur bands. For the SWL (Short Wave Listener) as well as the ham, any Anan product is an excellent choice. Proof of the pudding is in the eating? Checkout this Youtubevideo where G7CNF compares the Flex5000awith the Anan-100D n LF and MF style=\"margin: 0px 0px 12px; padding: 0px; font-family: Arial; line-height: 19.040000915527344px; background-color: rgb(244, 244, 244);\">

Ethernet Driven SDR

All Anan radios are connected to the controlling PC via Ethernet. While current features and functionality require no more than 100MBs(Megabits per Second) connectivity, the Ananrange have 1 GBs(1 Gigabit or 1000Megabit per second) ports allowing for huge future-proofing for new capabilities and features yet to be discovered

The Heart of the ANAN-100D is the Angelia SDR:

ANGELIA is a state-of-the-art soft core uP 4th generation DDC/DUC, Hermes-like, transceiver
board that incorporates an Altera Cyclone IV FPGA and dual LTC2208 ADCs. The large FPGA and
dual ADCs permit exceptional versatility and performance. The FPGA is large enough to allow
on-board, soft-core processing, if desired, and the dual ADCs allow true coherent receiver
operations.

Highlights:

  • 100W RD100HHF1 Based 160M - 6M rugged Linear amplifier
  • Rugged Extruded aluminium housing, Weight: 4.5Kgs approx, Dimensions: 265.5mm (W) x 220mm (D) x 80mm (H)
