Reel pictured here has somewhat appreciated in value during its hundred-plus years of existence.

Assembled with bolstered one inch cross-pillars, this modelincorporates Vom Hofe\'s 1889-patent spool journal and spider washer.

This reel is good for anything--for another hundred-plus years--from brookies to browns.It\'s likely caught more than its share of sporting fish, even scrappy chub and fall-fish.

This one certainly appears to have been used some over that time, but lovingly.

Aside from its undoubtedly interesting history, nothing\'s missing.It has no issues. No bends, bumps, chips, cracks, dents, or digs. Nothing wobbles.

Screws are unmolested. Foot is unmarked, full length, and dead straight.

Balance arm assembly remains true to form. No twists.

Grasp turns freely, its spindle firmly attached.

Click is strong. Chatters like a Catskill catbird.

Unchecked, the reel spins like a compass set on a hot stove.

No identifying marks, other than the 3-1/2 stamped into the foot,and the ubiquitous \"little round hole\" Vom Hofe die-punched through its center.
