This sale is for a wonderfully restored Rock-Ola jukebox, model 1428, complete with working wallbox. Before I get into details, I have a word about the term "restored". All too often on , sellers tout their goods as grade one restorations when in fact, they are truly not. A working machine does not mean restored, and is often used in an attempt to pump up the final selling cost of the unit. It doesn't cost an arm and a leg to make most old jukeboxes work, but it is costly and time consuming to restore them to original condition properly.
This machine was a truly great original survivor and in good condition. The machine has the original blonde, bleached mahoganyfinish which was cleaned, but otherwise untouched. Without question, it is the nicest original I've ever seen. There are a few very tiny nicks from age and wear, but overall beautiful. The machine's metal trim parts were nickel plated by a high end plating shop and are in perfect condition. All of the the plastics are original, were polished, and are in near perfect condition. The mechanism was totally dissassembled, cleaned, polished and lubricated. A brand new light weight cartridge and needle was installed. The amplifier and selection mechanism was completely rebuilt and produces great sound, loud enough to knock down a wall. The record changing mechanism was dissassembled, cleaned and lubed. It works flawlessly and smoothly, as it should. It plays 78's as it did originally. All of the interior wiring was replaces with appropriate materials. The coin equipment is complete and works well on nickels, dimes, and quarters. The "Magic'Glo" assembly in the center of the front door was dissasembled, cleaned, lubed and new color sheet applied, and works perfectly. The selection keys were removed, cleaned and polished, they look new. All of the selections work smoothly as they should. The wallbox unit has super nice chrome and was restored as well. The wire is included for hook-up and it has been tested. The wall box will select all of the selections and is working on nickles, as was the original design. The plating on the wallbox is original and exceptionally nice.
If you have any questions, either email me or call me at 443-852-1736. The machine can be picked up locally to save on frieht if desired, or I can assist the buyer with shipping and insurance through North American Van Lines at a reasonable rate. This usually runs around $350 to $380, maybe a little higher for the West Coast. I will also be happy to deliver to the Chicago Show in November for $100, and I can also assist with International shipping at good rates as well. Thanks for looking, and if your are serious collector and always wanted one of these, this is it! You will not be dissappointed.
