Hello everyone!What I am selling here is truly a beautiful looking instrument. I originally bought this for myself, as I have been playing the violin for many years now. This violin was hand made in Germany in the 1920s to the 1930s by the Roth workshop. It is unknown why they used the Hornsteiner label rather than their own, but some say it was so that the Roths could sell their own instruments in their competitor\'s shops. This violin is a hand crafted model of an Egidius Klotz violin. As for the craftsmanship, it is clearly a workshop violin, meaning that it was made by many different luthiers. The scroll is clearly German, and the neck is varnished. The back is made of one beautiful piece of wood. All the purfling is real, but it does not seem to have corner blocks. Overall, it looks very impressive.The sound is a very powerful, almost gypsy-like dark tone that is fantastic for romantic music. I will ship this violin in its original case with the bow.
