I don\'t know too much about thisBegonia except that it was apparently mistakenly known as Begonia sikkimensis, for a while, but it was decided to not bethat species, and assigned the unknown species number U614. It\'s an amazing plant, with heavily dissected leaves. U614 is a Himalayan species.
The plant up forsale is shown in thefirstand second photos. It is arooted rhizome division and is growing in a 2 1/2 inch pot, and will of course be sent in its pot.
Propagation: The plant can be propagated by seed, by division of the rhizome (which branches freely), and by leaf cuttings. I\'m pursuing propagation from leaf fragments at the moment, which is succeeding.
Climate: Ibelieve thisplant prefers it cool, which would makesense due to it origin. It does have a dormancy period in the winter, although that can probably be avoided by warm temperatures, and lighting greater than 12 hours a day. I\'mnot sure how much cold it can take, although there are reports it handle some below freezingtemperatures.
Source: I got my plant from alocal friend. I believe he raisedhis plants from seed.
