Bendix King KLX 100 handheld GPS NAV COMM, unit works great and is in excellent condition. Included with the KLX 100 are two operators guides, one quick reference card, GPS antenna, A/C power adapter and 12 volt lighter power plug, Two computer cables to conned to your PC for updates and one three ring binder will all info about the unit plus purchase information. This Radio receives amazingly well, backlight is bright and the screen has only some light scuffs on it. GPS Uses AA batteries and the battery compartment is clean with no corrosion. GPS has an 8 parallel channel receiver.
Although the GPS and VHF functions of the KLX-100 are largely separate, the unit has two unique and appealing features that integrates the two. The first is called \"QuickTune\" which allows you to pull up a page of frequencies for the nearest airport or ATC facility and tune the comm to any of those frequencies with a couple of keystrokes. The second feature is called \"SOS Beacon\" — if you press two designated keys simultaneously, the KLX-100 automatically starts transmitting a pre-recorded distress message on 121.5 and includes a voice-synthesized report of your GPS coordinates. QuickTune and SOS Beacon are both very clever features, and we were impressed.
