The top outer protective glassis cracked and if intact would have needed cleaning off moisturedroplets. The degree markings and compass directional needle pointermarkings are clear and readable. The metal data nomenclature plateis readable, a paper tag that was likely had a listing of patent andpatent pending numbers is too faded or deteriorated to read. Thecompass has two friction knobs that allow the degree ring to swivelto set the internal lubber lines to the desired magnetic courseheading. It is equipped with three mounting legs, one labeled AFT.
