A custom replacement backplate made specifically to solve a common issue with the version I/II Bose 901 active equalizer. This is the first time they are being made available, in order to gauge the demand for a product like this. Made from aluminum to match the Bose 901 chassis, and using 8 GOLD PLATED American-Made Switchcraft RCA phono connectors, this backplate/jack combination will relieve ANY AND ALL INTERMITTENT CONNECTION ISSUES CAUSED BY THE ORIGINAL MOISTURE-WARPED PHENOLIC BACKPLATES AND OXIDIZED SILVER-PLATED CONNECTORS.I am most familiar with the issues of the version I/II Active EQ units from Bose, and they commonly have leaking electrolytic capacitors, out-of-tolerance carbon composition resistors, and poor connection/high resistance/intermittent connections on the backplate.To install a new backplate:
1) Drill out the old rivets, then unsolder and mark the connections to each RCA jack.
2) Solder a single bus ground wire to each RCA jack lug and attach this bus wire to the rear circuit board stand-off using a 1/4\" star ground lug.
3) Solder the marked connections coming from the board to the correct RCA jack solder points.Please inquire before purchase. New mounting hardware and ground lugs will be provided.
