1870\'s/1880\'s Boston Musical Instrument Manufactory Band Model Eb Cornet in working, playing condition with all slides (except first slide) moving and all valves strung. Included is a period mouthpiece, shank, wooden seashell style case, and oiler. This little guy is a player, ready for playing in your period instrument brass band! Gave the Sachse concertino a whirl on this guy and she worked well, honking better than other Eb\'s in my collection.It is in Gold Plate, which was done aftermarket, but likely in the era, as it is done directly to the brass(instead of over silver) as was the practice then. Cosmetically it is extremely nice but not perfect:There is a patch on the 3rd slide (well done, and quite old) and holds pressure), some tiny dents here and there, and the gold plate is worn through to the brass in spots and is somewhat light.The case latches just fine, but is missing its handle and original key.Please ask any questions you would like, this is a hell of a horn!
