It is thick glass, well made, strong and sturdy.The back opens down to open and close, and it has to have a key to open, and to close, two keys come with it, and I\'m enclosing a 4 part velvet box you may be able to see in my last picture. It measures 17\" wide, x 12 3/4\" deep x 14 1/2\" tall, and it is inexcellent condition. The mirror on the back made it difficult for me to take good pictures, please ignore any reflections.
