Brandt Junior Automatic Cashier
The Brandt Cashier Coin machines were in use in banks andbusinesses after their introduction in the early 1900”s. They were invented byW. Brandt., a clerk in a local bank in Watertown, Wi. At that time, weekly pay wasgiven out in cash. To put the pay together for each employee, the clerk would have to count out the coins several times to insure accuracy. This was very time consuming. He came up with a mechanical machine that wouldaccurately count out the least amount of coins to give the total amountrequired. The machines were used in banks were the amount given was dependenton the key pressed.
This machine I have listed is aBrandt Junior “Changer Machine” that was used in businesswhich gave out the change for the purchase from the amount tended. Depending onthe key pressed, it would give out the amount pressed or change for variousdenominations. Two compartments for nickels, Two compartments for dimes, Two compartments for quarters, and One compartment for half dollars. \"Patents Pending Trade Mark Registered U.S. Patent Office\"
