Brian Brazeal style blacksmith\'s rounding hammer, hand forged to finish, 3 pound:
$150.00

Welllllll HOWDY folks!
Here is a fabulous rounding hammer from Fiery Furnace Forge Blacksmithing.
The rounding hammer is my hammer of choice for all purpose forging operations. The rounding side allows you to forge more efficiently by reducing the hammer\'s surface area contact with the steel, therefore concentrating the force of your hammer blow. If you hammer straight down the surface area is increased which forges the metal in a more slow controlled fashion. If you tilt your hammer and strike with the rounding side, the hammer gets more aggressive, moving the metal faster. The rounding side gives you many options to forge more, or less aggressively, to better fit your immediate application and is more versatile than any other forging surface. The flat side of the rounding hammer is great for smoothing out your work when you are done forging the mass out, giving your work a nice clean, professional finish. This hammer is hand-forged with a striker/director team, from 1045 steel and is hardened and tempered to provide a tough, long lasting tool. It weighs 3 pounds, 1 ounce, (actual head weight.) The faces undergo a series of grinding steps up to 180 grit, and are then polished on a light buffing wheel.
The handle is made from TOP grade, kiln dried, American hickory, sanded to a 120 grit for a smooth feel, custom fitted just for this hammer, and burn finished. The burn finish not only looks beautiful, it also helps the handle last longer, and feel better in the hand.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I have made over 400 hammers for blacksmiths and farriers worldwide. The tools I make get used full time in my own shop and many others. I know if you decide to purchase this hammer for your workshop, you will love the quality, the feel, and the function of it.
If you purchase other items from my store, I will be happy to combine shipping as economically as possible, and will refund your paypal account any of the excess shipping charges. With my items you are charged only actual shipping costs.
As always......THANK YOU for supporting the forge!
