Cool old Brunswick (Balke Collender) Model 101 \"suitcase\" portable wind-up victrola genre 78 rpm record player in nice looking shape. This cool old gramaphone style record player plays just fine, with the speed control being responsive/ if turned all the way down it stops the platter. The crank mechanism seems to turn fine/ holds the wind like it should. The lever on the left I assume is a brake does engage/ stop the turn table from spinning when shifted toward the rear of the case/ you have to hold it to keep it engage/ don\'t know if that is by design or not but it does stop the record. The \"tone arm\" connects to the case bottom using a hollow tube, so sound comes out the front when the flap is down/ an acoustic \"speaker\" of sorts... The mica on the reproducer is in tact, but it is slightly different amount of transparent in spots or something/ note the variances you can see in the close views, but the sound comes out fine. There are extra steel needles in the little chrome flip lid compartment... The lid has a removable box to store your 78s.... There is a missing leather flap on the lid as you can see, and the slide hinges that hold the lid from flopping back when open are both missing a screw. The clip for the crank in the storage area is in two pieces, not sure if this is by design or if it broke, but both pieces ]screw into the case (the longer piece\'s screw is loose)/ works ok. Note that one hinge on the case has an old bobby pin or such threaded though it/ needs a better fix but this works in the meantime.. The case shows a some normal wear, but in nice looking shape for an item this age, especially one designed to be toted around. When closed, the case measures around 9.5 inches tall, and is approx. 13.5 in both across and front to back. This cool old mechanical record player weighs approx. 23 pounds before packing... We wiped the surface dirt, but needs a good detailing, but we leave this to the new owner. Cool old antique, fun to take on an old fashioned picnic so you can serenade your date with vintage love songs on old 78s...lol... Nice looking old antique, fun for the collector or even just for those who appreciate the past/ old technology, or even SteamPunk decor fan...

We do our best to get packages on their way in a timely manner, but we are a small family operation so it often takes us 3 BUSINESS days after payment (depending on which day of the week you pay) to get to the post office, so please let us know if you need the item on a deadline/ for a gift, etc. so we can adjust our schedule...Be aware as well that the post office travel time is estimated by USPS, and delivery time once the item leaves our hands is beyond our control.
