Born in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England, Stanley Turner came to Canada in 1903. He first worked as an artist in the advertising department of the T. Eaton Company, and then as staff artist for printer/publisher Rous and Mann. In 1921 he was President of the Arts and Letters Club in Toronto.
