The chest dates to the 1930s-1940s and includes the Original Maker\'s Labels inside and Underneath! The Chest features a HUGE Fully Cedar Lined Storage Area which is Perfect for storing Blankets, Quilts and Clothing items and comes complete with the Original Swing Up Storage Tray! This Beautiful Piece has the Most Stunning Crotch Walnut Wood Graining set in a \"V\" Pattern on the Front with Striped Walnut on either side and Classic Art Deco Louvered like raised accents on the lower apron. The Top is a Classic Waterfall design as was so popular in the Art Deco era! The Chest is a Perfect Sized for use as a Bench at the end of a Bed! You can literally have an Entire Closet worth of Storage in the with just less than 4 Feet of Available Space!
The Style is Absolutely Classic Art Deco which dates to around the 1930s - 1940s and which remains a Perennial Favorite to this Day! The Chest is Quality American Made by Cavalier Corporation and has not only the Interior Label which reads \"THE GIFT FOR A LIFETIME OF HAPPINESS CAVALIER CEDAR CHEST...THIS CHEST IS MADE FROM THE FINEST OF TENNESSEE AROMATIC RED CEDAR...NO COATING TO SEAL IN THE AROMATIC CEDAR ODOR AND LESSEN MOTH PROTECTION CAVALIER CORPORATION, CHATTANOOGA, TENN.\" Underneath it is Stamped in Red \"PATTERN NO. 747 SERIAL NO 3774\" There is yet another paper label which reads :CAVALIER CORPORATION CHATTANOOGA TENNESSEE 747 FOR: ATHERTON FURNITURE CO. WATERVILLE, MAINE.\". So this Gorgeous Cedar Chest was made in Chattanooga and shipped to a furniture store in Maine. Years later it makes its way back to Jasper, Georgia to an Antique sale! This Beautiful Hope Chest measures a Full 48 AND 1/8 inches in Width, 37 and 3/4 inches in Height with the Lid of the Trunk Open (21 and 3/4 inches in Height Closed) by 18 and 1/2 inches from Front-to-Back. The Large Storage area inside measures a Cavernous 45 and 1/2 inches in Width, 16 and 1/2 inches in Front-to-Back by 13 inches in Depth. The Original Flip Up Tray measures 43 and 1/2 inches in Width, 7 and 1/4 inches from Front-to-Back by 2 inches in Depth. Harmony Grove utilizes Greyhound Package Express for almost all furniture shipping. This requires a trip to your local Greyhound Bus terminal to pick the item up but we have found that they do an Excellent job in carefully handling items. For smaller items, we may use UPS Ground but that is totally dependent on their ability of getting your item Safely to you. Shipping is a Flat charge that includes an amount for the New boxes we use, packing supplies and a small charge for the time we spend in getting the items ready to be shipped. Local FREE Pick-Ups are as welcome as the morning sun so please do consider that option. We are conveniently located in Jasper,Georgia which is an easy pleasant drive from Atlanta, GA, Chattanooga, TN and much of North Georgia.
