CLASSIC INDUSTRIES VINTAGE MANTA RAY GTX 1/24 SLOT CAR NEAR MINT IN ORIGINAL BOX:
$179.99

Classic Industriesof Culver City, California, had seen its sales growing from virtually nothingin 1964 to millions of dollars by the end of 1966, boosted by the sales of oneof the most successful slot cars ever produced, the Manta Ray. Designedby stylist John Power, the rather odd-looking model vaguely based on the DeanJeffries show car appealed to younger enthusiasts. It was fast and rugged, handled reasonably well and was available ready to race with no need forassembly like most other models produced in 1965. Its success was simplyprodigious and over one million of them were sold.

Offered here isone of these 50+ year old ‘thingies’ from the 1960’s. It is in excellent/near mint conditionshowing only the slightest use. There isno damage to the Manta Ray or the clear Lotus 30 body that was packaged withthe original cars. The motor turns overnicely when touched to power. Alsoincluded is a vintage Classic Industries parts list that originally came withthe car. The original rear tires appearunused but are pretty dried out from decades of sitting. For that reason I have included are a pair ofstill soft vintage orange sponge tires that could be used if you want to runthe car. There is a small scuff over theleft rear wheel well that is NOT a crack.I have examined it with a 10X magnifier to verify this.

The box is cleanand bright with one torn corner seam. E-mail with questions. Please pay with PAY PAL
