Authentic Civil War Confederate Artillery Short Sword patterned after the Model 1832 Federal Short Artillery Sword. This sword is an original 1861-1865 Confederate War Time example with brass sand cast handle and forged blade. The brass handle has the crude but crisp Southern casting with all the file marks and copper brass patina we love to see. The blade also has the Southern traits we love with inclusions in the metal and crude profile. Very strong example with overall good condition and excellent eye appeal. The sword measures roughly 24 1/2 inches and blade close to 19\" inches long. There is no scabbard as most were leather or wood bodies with tin mounts andoriginal Confederate scabbardsare scarce.
