The EOD Robotics breacher bar from CountyComm is a great tool with two problems: 1) it rusts like nobody\'s business with the slightest bit of moisture and 2) it desperately needs scales to make it fit better in the hand. I modified my personal bar and when my friend saw it, he asked me to make one for him.

This bar is one of a kind, completely custom designed and built. The bar was degreased, lightly sanded, primed, and painted with two coats of black Krylon paint. I\'m not a pro painter so please understand the finish isn\'t perfect. The only exposed metal is the beveled pry edges, so no other part of this baby will ever rust. After drying, I custom cut and fitted two scales of repurposed solid maple wood. The wood is sealed with boiled linseed oil. Then the handle was wrapped with 11 feet of red 550 paracord, and the tail is designed as a wrist strap, or hanging/tying strap. Additionally a wood bead is added as a decorative touch, but which can also double as a float for fishing in an emergency.

The scales are not glued to the bar, only the paracord wrap holds them firmly in place. This is so that they can be detached should you need access to the full length of the bar, or should you need to sacrifice them to make tinder, kindling, or many other uses. Obviously, the 550 cord has countless uses and is easy to replace should you need to sacrifice the handle wrap.

I keep one of these bars in my tool box, in all of my B.O.B. bags, and one in my vehicle give box. I use them all the time. I don\'t even know how many hours went into making this piece, but I\'m setting the starting offer at a price which will help me buy more stock so I can make more.
