In 1993, the NationalAssociation of Broadcasters commissioned the design of this tuner todemonstrate the quality that C-Quam AM Stereo is able to achieve withthe new \"AMAX\" receiver performance standard theyintroduced. Unfortunately, the FCC never required all new radios tomeet the AMAX specs, so most people have never been able to hear justhow good analog AM radio can sound. But this Denon does bring out thebest from AM radio -- in my next video, I will give you a directaudio hookup of it receiving some local AM and AM Stereo stations.”
