DULCIMER RARE #1843 by HOMER C. LEDFORD Excellent find:
$465.00

RARE MOUNTAIN DULCIMER!Handmade, signed, and numbered (#1843) Appalachian/Lap/Mountain Dulcimer by legendary instrument maker,Homer C. Ledford.

For sale: Spectacular, 4 string, Mountain Dulcimer by legendaryHomer C. Ledford. (1927–2006).Every Homer C. Ledford instrument is entirely made by Homer\'s hands out of top quality, and in most cases, antique woods and other rare materials. Some of his instruments are on display inthe Smithsonian!

Inside is Homer\'s hand written label stating\"Cherry back over 100 years old.\"Research shows that the cherry is likely from an old mansion that served at one time as a house of prostitution. The Yellow Poplar Top is likely from Berea College Howard Hall Dormitory (1867). This custom-made, left handed, Ledford dulcimer was purchased at Berea College in Kentucky around 1970. Although it is a LEFT HANDED instrument, it can easily be adopted for right-hand play.

BONUSES: Not all Ledford Dulcimers have PEARL fret marker INLAYS and UNIQUE CARVING in the STRUM WELL or the additional frets at 6 1/2 and 8 1/2!There are typical, small blemishes, but otherwise, this dulcimer is like new. TheINCREDIBLY DEEP, RICH TONESthat emanate from from this fabulous, lightweight dulcimer are like nothing you\'ve experienced!

This is my personal instrument, I don\'t play much any more, so I just want it to go to a good home. I\'ve seen lesser Homer C. Ledford Dulcimers go for $2000. I\'m not asking half of that much. Serious inquiries only. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments. Ask for Brian.
