EARLY FIRE PARADE HELMETEMPIRE 4 MFDThis lightweight leather fire helmet was made by Olson of New York in the 1880s. It is in overall outstanding condition except for some minor crazing to the paint and some paint loss. Without question this is the original and only coat of paint on this helmet. It is obvious based on the little wear to the liner that this helmet was only worn occasionally and spent most of it's life on a shelf or in a box. There are no dents or splitting to the lion finial and only some paint aging to the red inserts in the front shield. This red aging only adds to the character of this beautiful helmet. We guarantee the new owner will be completely satisfied with the purchase of this museum quality piece. This sale will run it's full course in fairness to all our customers. Thank you for understanding. Please do not ask us to end sale early.
