This piece definately has a mane.Wonderful Soft Longish Fur in Shades from Black to Medium Brown and Dark Brown. I have a friend who is a Taxidermist and he tells me the Hide is tanned. There are two areas that have no fur they are on opposite sides of the hide on the edge. They are identical in size and shape. They are triangular shaped and are 6\" Wide by approx. 4\" High. I am not a Buffalo Hide or Horsehide Expert so buyer should keep in mind the age of the Hide. It is backed with Dark Blue Felt as shown in Photo No. 7. There are Decorative Felt Points around the Rim, some of them have age wear and are missing. It has only two Tiny Spots of White. Some of thefur is Silver Tipped.
