Early 1900s Composition Elephant, Ivory Tusks. German. Fantastic detail. Putz
Very early 1900s German Animal. Composition molded, with wooden feet. Then dipped in a mixture of liquid plaster, and hand-painted as you see this animal. These were used in various putz and Village scenes under the tree, with Nativity scenes for we had to have lots of animals about, and even in village displays on tables and elsewhere in the parlor.
Various tones of gray to create a miniature, so realistic elephant.
Molding is fantastic as well, right down to floppy ears.
White and black eyes.
Long trunk.
Even ivory tusks highlighted in white.
4.50\" in length, 3.00\" in height, and in very good condition.
One minor blemish shown in close-up,but so unnoticeable.
There is nothing wrong withthis Germananimal.Theseearly German animalsbeing listed today arein very good shape. They arevintage, notreproductions. I guarantee that.
