EARLY 1970 VIETNAM WAR GERBER MARK II COMBAT/FIGHTING/THEATRE KNIFE & SHEATH :
$217.50

Description

NOTE: THIS IS A THREE DAY sale.

This is part of a large collectionthat I am selling. Some of the knives in the group photo are part of my very special \"keeper pieces\" that I will be selling over the next few days, keep an eye on my other sales. I will also be listing much more of my collection to include military saddles, bridles, bits, scabbards, holsters, belts, swords, historical documents, uniforms, musical instruments, etc. etc. The knife in this sale, along with the Civil War sword blade group that I have listed, are the finest \"theatre\" knives that I have ever owned. Although this modification looks like it could have been an aftermarket addition to a factory Mark II, I think it was probably done by the owner. The knife and sheath is an original Gerber Mark II set made in 1970 with the custom aluminum guard looking to be soon added. The guard simply slides up the blade cradling theexisting guard, two insetAllen screwsare thentightened, clamping itvery solidly to the knife. The only modification to the original knifewas the removal of one side of the guard. The added guard is grooved and contoured to fit even a very large hand (see photo) with perfect comfort and balance. This is a very formidable weapon that was made for combat and looks like it seen some. All components remain in excellent, maintained condition.Hopefully the photos will speak for themselves, click onto one below for a slide show, then click onto each individual photo in show for even greater LARGE close-up detail. You may need to use the positioning bars on the bottom and side for very detailed inspection of the close-up. Older computers may take a while but the item detail is worth the wait. All items that I list are out of my personal collection and are 100% guaranteed to be as described, I take pride in my response. If you have any questions, or need more photos, please ask. E-mail or call me at 541-520-2131, I live in Oregon.
